Vindigo now cost$
I synced my Palm today and my formerly free Vindigo connection is now on a 30 day free trial, with an annual membership to cost $24.95.
I originally got Vindigo because it was a "free" way to get the Zagats guides for some major cities. Once they dropped Zagats (or Zagats dropped them, I don't know which), the value of Vindigo dropped. But since it was free, what the heck. Now that it costs something, I'm going to pull the plug. To me the value of the Vindigo content is marginal, and it can be a real memory pig. |
If anybody is going to keep it and upgrade to the new one, the price goes up April 1st or something, so do it quick.

For the record, Vindigo will still continue to offer a free version, called Vindigo Lite. See their web site for details:

It seems that the days of free services like Vindigo and Yahoo Email forwarding are gone. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/frown.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...thumbsdown.gif

I use Callwave for my incoming fax service. I get a toll number that I give to folks to send me faxes. The fax is converted to digital and sent to me as an email attachment I can read on my PC. Allows me to get faxes, even when I am traveling. Still a free service. http://www.callwave.com ------------------ Michael Steinberg Editor BizTrip http://www.biztrip.com |
