WAP in Europe

WAP in Europe
I'll be in Europe for about 6 weeks. Ideally, I'd like to have access to a US service that provides real time stock quotes on WAP.
Most US services provide European roaming but I can't find one that provides WAP in Europe.
What about subscribing to a UK or European service, British Telecom for example? Is it practical? Will they take a US resident for a couple of months? How would it work? Will they just send me a SIM card, or must I get a locked phone from the carrier to receive WAP in Europe?
