What does this symbol on a docking station mean?
Mrs. jsnydcsa recently received a new Dell docking station. It had the following two ports with a symbol below that I must candidly admit I've never seen nor noticed before.

Dual mode display port, basically you can use a cheap passive adapter to physically convert the pins to HDMI or DVI.
(If you have special requirements like DVI-dual link for higher resolution, then you need an active adapter to convert to HDMI/DVI, active adapter cost much more since there's a chip in it to do conversion https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#Dual-mode |

Good ole display port. Can't say I ever actually used one of those cables.

Really? All the new monitors have it. At work all the computers are connected to display port for the monitors. Only recently they are changing to USB-C.
I have seen Display Port, and some of my monitors supported it, but I always used thunderbolt. |
Thanks all! I just went with a HDMI from the same docking station to her current monitor.
