iMessage is now on Windows 11
Hey guys!
I just download it! A new way that you can texting with your friends on your computer at home. Windows 11. You can used iMessage on PC computer. You don't have use your iPhone. https://www.imore.com/apple/imessage...with-an-iphone Listen to this! Enjoy! If you have any questions. Just let them know! |
Well, it's not quite iMessage. It's Phone Link by Microsoft. It does not support group or MMS messages at this time and requires your phone to be connected to your computer by Bluetooth for it to function. iMessage allows you to send messages to other iMessage users using only the Internet and does not require your phone to be nearby for those. This is a whole different animal, but works OK. I started using it yesterday.

I set this up a week ago before I left for the current trip, it works alright but you can def tell it's a workaround because Apple is unwilling to play ball. That being said, this msft solution works just as well as other janky hacks to enable this sort of thing in the past (imessage, beamer, etc)
|
Will definitely download and give it a try.I put my phone on a wireless charging pod when I use my desktop anyway. This feels a good solution.

People still send MMS these days? Vodafone in Germany ceased this type of service the other month. :D

THE reason I always jailbroke earlier iterations of the iPhone is for the app Remote Messages
https://www.actualidadiphone.com/en/...r-con-windows/ The experience was seamless. I'm surprised no one has updated this. I'd jailbreak again for it. |

So people with Androids in Germany can't text a photo to a friend unless they use a third party messenger app?

We moved on about 10 years ago. Everyone I know uses WhatsApp. |
I use Signal now.
I was a previous WhatsApp user. |
I have no idea what an MMS is. Texts are for business and WhatsApp for everything else. No need to complicate it.

As has been said many times on here, hardly anybody uses SMS / texts in some parts of the world. 99% of the UK would have no idea what an MMS was :)

You can also use the Amazon Appstore on Windows, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...b-ad6b1459ff6c
Then you can install all kinds of chat apps, go here and click on "Communication" for some examples |

There's a lot of areas, including parts of the USA, where SMS might be your only option. I've been in a few areas in the past 6 months where that was the case. WhatsApp/Signal still aren't universal.
