Any experience with Solis Portable WiFi
I am constantly on the lookout for something I can count on. Any reviews for Solis ?

I've used it before. The pricing is OK, the speeds not terrible. Replacing the batteries when they die is kind of annoying (they're 18650 batteries, not standard AA etc). There was one occasion where I was logging into my online banking over the device and the browser refused to connect claiming the connection was being intercepted, to which I swapped to (expensive) mobile roaming on my phone service instead - but I cannot necessarily assume the Solis device was the cause. This was also a good five years ago now though - the devices have been upgraded since then and I believe the company changed hands.

At a quick glance, it appears to be a subscription service which requires you to purchase a hardware device... Depending on what you do and where you travel, it seems to me to make more sense to buy an unlocked hardware hotspot and get a local SIM...
