Upgradable 8GB RAM for NB, which one is the best upgrade?

Need advice from our fellow IT experts.

I plan to get a new laptop that will last and fit me low-end needs, mainly for word processing, some statistical analyses for research, virtual meeting when needed, and playing LINE Brown Farm in Bluestakes 5. Great sale going on right now and after extensive research I have my eyes on this Lenovo TB that fits my tight budget.

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 1 82LX0067TW(N6000/4GB/256GB/W11)

IdeaPad 1 15IGL7 82LX0067TW

●CPU Intel Pentium Silver N6000 (4C / 4T, 1.1 / 3.3GHz, 4MB L3)
● 4GB Soldered DDR4-2933
●RAM: Up to 12GB (4GB soldered + 8GB SO-DIMM) DDR4-2933 offering
●HD 256GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0 NVMe
●Screen: 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) TN 220nits Anti-glare
● Integrated Intel UHD Graphics
● 11ac, 2x2 + BT5.0
● Windows 11 Home

I understand with a 8GB RAM upgrade, this new machine would make me happy. Being non-IT, I don't want to get the wrong one. So I check in with your guys before I place my online order. I don't know the differences between the DDR4-2666/3200 & 1.2V or 1.3V but I didn't find any 8GB DDR4-2933. I am not sure if DDR4 3200 is preferrable to DDR4 2666 either.

I spot this Kingston DDR4 3200 sale (8GB, 1.2V, KVR32S22S8/8). Will this one work?
(Is this one the same product? Same KVR32s22S8/8 with different product picture)

Or is this one (Kingston FURY Impact DDR4-2666 8GB KF426S15IB/8) better?

Which is the best Kingston 8GB RAM upgrade among all these DDR4 selections?

1. Kingston DDR4 3200 sale (8GB, 1.2V, KVR32S22S8/8)
2. (Is this one the same product? Same KVR32s22S8/8 with different product picture)
3. this one (Kingston FURY Impact DDR4-2666 8GB KF426S15IB/8)
4. Kingston DDR4 3200 8GB KCP432SS8/8
5. Kingston DDR4 2666 8GB 1.2V (KCP426SS8/8)
6. Kingston DDR4 2666 8GB 1.2V(KVR26S19S6/8)

Thanks for the input!

I would normally use the Kingston product finder https://www.kingston.com/en But I could not easily find the exact Slim 1 model you linked.

Taiwan model...

Thanks for the reply. Now you understand my frustration. I tried to find US models but failed. None of the Kingston RAMs sells the exact spec (DDR4-2933) either.

All the above links are for the Taiwan market. The closest Slim 1 model I found is this one from Costco (N6000/4GB/256GB) by cpu:
https://www.costco.com/lenovo-ideapa...100858024.html

I need to be sure if any or all the above 8GB Kingston will fit the machine. Years back, when I needed to upgrade my now-dead Thinkpad R40, I researched and bought the RAM with the exact matching spec from a Singaporean seller online. When it arrived, I found out that RAM also came in two types, left and right (don't know the right word). I got the wrong one that wouldn't fit the "slot" of my R40. My techie friend later told me you would only know if the RAM was the correct one after opening the package. You can't tell from the online photos of the products & the sellers normally won't specify either. What? What a learning experience and waste of my money! I only wish those spec descriptions would make sense to non-techie like me. Shoes, dress/shirt, pant sizes, no problem. But these DDR4 2933. 2666, 3200...etc. They are beyond my comprehension. God help me!

The #5 Kingston is the only one with ad clearly stating :"tailored for name brand like Apple, ASUS, Lenovo." Seems to be the safest bet. I read numbers. Since 2666<2933, I am concerned whether that would be a "downgrade" move instead of upgrade.

I just don't want to make the same mistake this time. Can our fellow IT experts speak English to me and help me make the right choice?

KCP432SS6/8 or KCP432SS8/8

3200 should slow down to 2933 and Kingston guarantees compatibility anyway.

Thanks for the model link. Very helpful.

IIUC, if adding a 3200, it wouldn't run to its fullest and only top at 2933. But 3200 is still compatible to this machine. Right?

Many thanks!

Yes, that's generally the case in all memory cases (as long as it's the same DDR generation (4 in this case), and that's what Kingston is also guaranteeing by offering that part number as the correct one for upgrade.

ETA:

I received my order this evening and will need to get some professional help to install the 8GB RAM tomorrow before I can really test this new machine. Not sure whether regular store hours are held since it's a long weekend for Moon Festival. We'll see.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival, everyone!
