It was an add on promotion for ONE plans I got in 2017 when I signed up for my plan. It gave 256kbps data roaming, 10Gb 4G hotspot and a few other upgrades. It has not been available for a long time. I was able to get it added to the last 3 free lines I got by calling in and politely asking customer service to add it since all the other lines on my account had the +Promo. So those lines now are alternate data lines when roaming.

I just switched from One to Magenta Max 55+ which will be $10 less per month. Got Viasat(?) on a recent three-hour Delta flight - noticeable improvement over the old Gogo experience.

I'm not 55+, but I'm assuming only the account holder needs to be 55+ to be eligible? A supplemental account holder who is 70+ won't help me qualify?

A single 55+ person can sign up with an additional such line/number for their adult child, minor child or even minor grandchild. Maybe the adult child could do the same too for a 55+ parent on the adult child’s own account, but I haven’t crossed that bridge.

I know that, but I want to be the primary account holder.

I switched from AT&T to the 55+ plan and did the entire process via Twitter DM. I was never asked my age.
