Configuring two SIMs on Android phone
I'm using an Android Pixel which supports two SIMs want to set it up to use one for data and the other for voice and text.
Thinking this is something basic but searched a bit and am still stumped. Thx |

you can do one physical sim (assuming that's your regular mobile provide) plus one eSIM https://support.google.com/pixelphon...s-a-second-sim Not all providers issue esim - some smaller companies target the traveler segment and issue cheap roaming esim that work in multiple countries ($3-$10/GB, 1 day to 356 day expiry) You can check this thread, or just browse sites like https://esims.io/ https://esimdb.com/ Unfortunately most don't list the actual provider, but would be great if you have different provides for more coverage https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trav...nt-prices.html Data: Turn on Mobile data. Important: Only one SIM can be the default for data. If you already have one set up, you'll get a notification. Data: Most data goes through the default SIM for that use type. Exception: During a phone call, all data goes through the SIM making the call. |
Sorry, a little more detail... my Fi service is on the eSIM and my Mint service is a standard SIM

eSIM is existing working put your Mint SIM in the tray slot https://support.google.com/pixelphon...s-a-second-sim On a phone that’s already using an eSIM, but not yet using a SIM card: Insert the SIM card. Learn how to insert a SIM card. When asked, "Use 2 SIMs?" tap Yes. Your phone will update. After your phone updates, open your Settings app again. Tap Network & internet and then Mobile network. To set call and text preferences, tap your networks. Tip: To have your phone ask your network preference every time, tap Ask me every time. Change dual SIM preferences on your Google Pixel phone You can choose which SIM your phone uses for data, calls, text messages, and more. Your phone uses that SIM automatically. Set default SIM for data, calls, and text messages Open your Settings app. Tap Network & internet and then Mobile network and then your network. For each network, set your preferences: Data: Turn on Mobile data. Important: Only one SIM can be the default for data. If you already have one set up, you'll get a notification. Calls: Tap Call Preference. Then pick your default carriers, or tap Ask me every time. Texts: Tap SMS Preference. Then pick your default carriers, or tap Ask me every time. |
