Well, if we are talking about the Surface Pro 7 then we I really must link this review Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable review: It's like a Surface Pro but with Thunderbolt 4

Interesting, I haven't seen that device before - looks pretty nice. Would be nice if the screen resolution was a touch higher, but otherwise looks great.

The resolution concerns me as well but not in the same way. For a 12.3" that's already a high resolution. My eyes are already bad enough, don't want to be squinting even more. The Surface Pro 7 is just as bad. Would work as a solution though (well, I've never tried the keyboard separated from the tablet but assuming that would work.)

bestbuy.ca has it for C$399. Make sure you are looking at the Quest 2 not the original Quest. The original Quest is more expansive, less resolution, and with a much slower processor. The one downside (could be a deal breaker for some) is that you have to login with a Facebook account.

$400 is still a tad high for the exchange rate. But it'd be a consideration if I know I'm visiting the US and can have it delivered to a friend's place ahead of time. As for the Facebook account thing, yeah, I wasn't too happy to see that part. But I suppose that's a relatively easy fix (make a locked down dummy FB account and accept no friends or apps).
