Flexiroam Poor Customer Service

I felt the need to cancel my Flexiroam account today due to their poor service regarding a problem with a purchased plan. Several months ago I bought 2 data plans for a trip I am on currently. While on the first plan I was checking my account and according to them, I cancelled the second plan. I did not receive any notice of the cancellation. I went to activate it the next day and the cancellation appeared only at that time. I quickly contacted support and was advised it could not be reinstated due to the same pricing was no longer available. I was advised that I would get a credit for the original amount. I asked for a refund to the purchase credit card which was denied. I was offered a Paypal refund, but I don't use or like PayPal. I was told to provide my banking info for a refund, but since I paid by CC, I didn't feel comfortable giving that info out while away from home. So, I won't do business with them again after a few years there, and I advise others to be careful also. Apparently once they have your money, they intend to keep it.

Offering two different ways to refund your money seems like a poor way to try to keep it. :)

Not really. I had to keep asking and they kept saying I could only get a credit. Besides, do you really believe they couldn't reinstate my purchase after only a day? That the price was no longer available? They knew where I was at the time. Would you be comfortable putting your banking info in an email from a hotel in Russia? I consider that poor customer service and why I cancelled & wrote this statement. You apparently have a different opinion, that's fine.

Considering it's common in Europe and plenty of other places outside North America for bank account numbers to be on company letterhead and publicly-accessible websites, yeah, I would. And in North America you hand your bank details over to everyone you write a check to.

"Roaming SIMs" are usually a terrible deal, but if they're offering a refund via PayPal or bank transfer I fail to see what the issue is here.

If they offer a PayPal option as you suggest all they need is an email address to send the money, not your banking information. And when I'm abroad, I never connect to internet without using a VPN, and since I don't expect any state actors to really care about my amazon purchases or banking habits, and all that is done via https I'm not too concerned after that point. AND, it's not like you have to send them all this while you're in Russia. AND if you paid with a credit card, you can always file a dispute. It's not like you are without options, and they offered you two already.
