International USB chargers/Computer AC Cords?
A few years ago I purchased a computer ac supply power cord while in Europe with the appropriate plug and it is far superior to using an NA plug and an adapter. I have since added a South African ac cord when doing work there. I am tired of fiddling with plug adapters and am now looking to expand my collection to an ac cord for the UK and original-equipment USB wall chargers for Europe and the UK. Is there North American supplier of such things? I checked Amazon in Canada and didn't quite find what I am looking for.

I'd look at Amazon UK or see if the laptop manufacturer has what you're looking for.
Apple sells a travel pack with plugs for different locations that can be swapped out, using the original power brick. I just went to an apple store in the UK and was given a plug for UK mains for free instead of paying for the full travel pack. |
There's quite a few usb(-c) chargers that comes with a US "builtin" plug and "adapters" to make them compatible in other regions, for example
I've yet to see any with ZA plugs, but the EU one works just as well around here.
You didn't mention if your laptop is USB-C or not and what power cable you need, but most laptops chargers seems to be using |

Or you could always go the DIY path :o https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q...C&&FORM=VRDGAR |
I have an IEC C7 to C8 from eBay store welleen and use an Apple International plug kit
I'm not seeing the 1 ft version for sale at the moment but here's the 6 ft https://www.ebay.com/itm/IEC-C7-to-C...frcectupt=true They also carry other short figure 8 IEC C7 and clover/"Mickey Mouse" C5 cables https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_odk...EC+C7&_sacat=0 https://www.ebay.com/sch/welleen/m.h...p2046732.m1684 |
If you've got a standard laptop brick and are just looking for C5 "Mickey Mouse" or C7 "figure-8" AC cords, just order them from the Chinese eBay sellers.
They're $3ish and not too dodgy. My UK C5 cord even has a fuse in it :D |
Thank-you for the suggestions particularly the U.S. company that offers international ac supply cords. Computer cords seem to be the easiest acquisition but dedicated factory-marked USB chargers will require ordering directly from the UK and Europe.
