On physical size, stand, resolution et al this was poised to be the perfect travel monitor and I have been waiting since they announced it in 2018 January but ... gosh, look at that price
5150 Euro: https://bit.ly/2GxmgOH (sorry for the shortener, but the forum broke the link when I pasted it? weird.)
4700 GBP: https://www.wexphotovideo.com/asus-p...stand-1687683/

While it is indeed not yet in stock, it's only two weeks out per https://www.centralpoint.be/nl/monit...0-num-8148057/ and it's all over Europe at similar price points https://www.tekworld.it/asus-pq22uc-...40x2160/905770 etc
I doubt Asus would let this many stores run around and destroy any interest enthusiasts had in this monitor.

$5K for a monitor seems unlikely, but
Talked to the support. Internal release date was shifted to early 2019 - Price estimate above 1000€

@brp1264 might have a problem for real. https://www.prad.de/mobiler-oled-mon...proart-pq22uc/ reports a retail recommended price of 4999 EUR. No way it'll be 1000 USD across.

your use case is probably very niche. which comes with a $
LL-S201A - 2.3kg and requires external power cord?
if your laptop can drive 2 externals, makes sense to carry two smaller ones instead? (unless you need the display to do presentations). most people would do this (and buy a 15" screen that doesnt need an external power)
there are a couple of no-brand 17" 4K IPS for $600, if you want to try your luck

Re smaller monitors, I have two PackedPixels as well, yes but actually, I'd like to sell those :/ Two small screens are not as good as one giant slab of glass. I repaced the external power adapter with a tiny netbook adapter. That Sharp is the largest you can comfortably throw in the travel backpack (especially if you were around the right time when Red Oxx still customized bags and got a SkyTrain made with a monitor pocket...)

It is exactly by a stretch Why not? Look at Figure 1 in the manual, https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/L...glish_1127.pdf the stand folds flat. The montior itself is 510.9 mm x 313.9 mm x 8.5 mm without the stand -- 20.12" x 12.36" very thin so it is totally within MLC limits and possibilities. This truly is peanuts, I have tried to squeeze a 13.5"x22" monitor in a carry on with questionable success you sorta can in a shapeless rolltop, basically a tarpaulin sack with backpack straps but gosh that was a bad experience. You'd have no problems with a monitor this size for example in the Minaal or many similar bags.
It's this size, that nifty stand and USB C power which made this my dream. That it's 4K and OLED not so much -- I'd have lived with a full HD monitor at a reasonable (200 USD or so) price instead. No such thing.

Anyone looking forward to the day when folding/rollable monitors are mainstream? Then we can watch the FT complaint threads start about people who unroll a 32" monitor in Y to do spreadsheet work.
