I am still being charged for EU Roaming

Hi,

I live in the UK and my work phone is supplied through O2. Last month I racked up a lot of calls whilst I was travelling in the EU only to be told that our Corporate Account was not eligible for free roaming. Is this the case? I must admit I has assumed that EU rules applies to all types of agreements not just consumer and small business.

might depend on where you were roaming

This article mentions some exceptions to the general principle.

Depends on what you were actually charged for. According to the wiki linked by glennaa11, you should still be charged at domestic rates for outgoing calls, outgoing SMS, and for data usage.

The EU regulation is for consumer contracts, not for corporate contracts. Each corporate would negotiate their own terms/pricing and could have in theory had "free" roaming already years because those are results of negotiations.

What changed is that your private subscription got much more feasible to use while roaming inside EU.

I looked some operators in Finland and they have still some corporate packages which wonīt include any mins/pcs/Mb to package, but you pay per usage.

In private, you pay as you use, if you donīt have the package.

my corporate contract has a 250MB roaming allowance.

found out, even within the "free" EU roaming area, my plan will drain the 250MB allowance before it goes into the free roaming usage.

meaning e.g. if go to France first and Serbia second, I'll have no more prepaid data to use for Serbia.

really, really annoying. we clarified with the carrier and they said "sorry thats how it is"

What about incoming roaming calls? Will there be additional charges?
