I wonder if an organization could cut a deal with them to offer it as a member benefit?

IPass has group rates for offices.

I noticed several posts mentioning iPass. I have iPass through my work. It works on Gogo equipped flights on DL, AA and UA. However, it doesn’t work on AA with viasat WiFi. The only roaming/third-party service allowed on ViaSat are Boingo (but not the complimentary Boingo via Amex) and Gogo (but not the complimentary Gogo passes from CNB and other credit cards).

I have inquired a couple of times about this precise topic. iPass has replied they are "working on an agreement" so that iPass can be used on Viasat-equipped flights. It is unclear whether there needs to be an agreement between iPass and Viasat or iPass and AA.

If you have a paid Boingo subscription (not through a credit card), are you able to access ViaSat for no additional charge? Or does it charge a per-minute roaming fee?

You can access Viasat with a Boingo account but it's a steep roaming fee (like US$0.24 per minute, if memory serves).

I don't have a paid Boingo subscription, so can't answer. But I see that ESpen36 has answered it. If the roaming fee is so steep, then I for one wouldn't go that route.

Hope iPass makes it happen soon. The inability of wifi is a big downer while flying AA flights with ViaSat. I get so much work done when I have GoGo on the flight using my iPass.
