Thanks.

Strangely, if I connect the power brick to the extension cable from my previous MacBook, the it doesn't happen.

I think that makes sense since the extension cable has the third grounding pin.

This is happening on my Mid-14 MBP with the grounding cable plugged into a surge protector. Had it happen on my samsung laptop too. Just thought it was strange, never put much thought into it.

I have had this with all of my aluminum laptops and that despite the power supply being grounded.

I normally use mine in the office, so it's generally plugged in. I went to a meeting today, and after 80 minutes the battery was on 62%. Not great...

I wasn't actually doing much, but I did have a Windows 7 VM running.

This is with the latest version of firmware, where the battery issues were supposedly fixed.

Interesting since release the 2015 Refurbs on Apple.com have been all but completely and 100% out of stock. The 15" versions...

It's what I am looking for.

Thank you. A potential solution. Still can save 500+ dollars when a refurb of that machine pops up. And every other laptop I've done refurb. Add apple care. And still outside of the mid 2012 display issues been all good.

Plenty of stock on ebay. I got mine there mint condition. Lovely machine.

It surprises me, since I've been on the mini laptop bandwagon since the very first 7" machine, been using various 11" and 12" Airs / MBs for years....

...and the 15" feels surprisingly compact and portable. atleast compared to my 15" Dell Precision which is a gigantic brick of a machine.

I sometimes plug my MBP 2016 touchbar into an Anker charger that has a USB to USB-C cable. I'm doing it now. It's charging just fine, with no Apple charger.

Any charger with a USB - USB-C that has decent wattage will work.

This would be perfect for the 13" MacBook Pro. Its not recommended for the 15" (which requires more wattage), but I did get away using the magsafe2 version for my older 15" MacBook Pro. I still hope to get mine in Jan, although now shown as backordered until March.

Just found that the touch bar is customizable. Removed that damn pesky Siri button I keep hitting by mistake, added a lock screen and a show desktop button. The Esc button still gets hit when I don't mean to.
