any way to delete "e-mail address memory" with Yahoo?
 

For a few years now, Yahoo seems to "memorize" all e-mail addresses from which I've ever received an e-mail from or to which I have sent a message.

For various reasons, I find this utterly annoying. (e.g. when sending an e-mail, I'd much prefer if Yahoo only suggested e-mail addresses from my contact list).

Does anyone happen to know whether there's a way to fix/change this?

I feel for Yahoo. They did what US Govt asked, which is illegal for the govt to do itself (pesky 4th amendment), trying to be a good citizen.

OTOH, all EU emails have their metadata captured and sent to servers in France for govt uses there by EU law which has been around since 2005-ish. At least it isn't the content, but to/from/subject and all X-headers ARE saved.

Remove contacts from Auto-Suggest
Begin entering an email address or contact in the "To" field of a new message.
When the unwanted contact appears as a suggestion, mouse over it in the suggestions list.
Click X to the right of the suggestion.
A pop-up appears asking if you're sure you want to delete the email address.

In Settings, Writing email, uncheck Automatically add new recipients to Contacts. Then go to your address book and clean out the ones that were automatically added. They will have an email address but no name.
