Impact of adding Gmail address to Google account?
 

My Google account is a Hotmail address. There's a Google support article that says you can add a Gmail mail account to an existing non-gmail Google account, but that doing so will change your default login to the new Gmail account and the previous non-gmail account will switch to the alternate address.

That all makes sense, but does anyone know how that will impact my Android phone? Since I'm signed into my Google account on it through my Hotmail address, would I need to do a hard reset on it and go through the first time setup with the Gmail account?
