Samsung Galaxy S7

I'm liking the specs, and the IP68 dust/water rating is very welcome.

I just wish they included a 200GB microSD card with pre-orders instead of getting a Gear VR. I really have no desire for a Gear VR.

I have two 128GB S6 phones on T-Mobile's Jump on Demand. I wonder how much I'll have to pay to go down to a 32GB S7. The silver color looks very nice.

I am thinking I am going to get the S7 next month. I have to pay off the remaining portion of my S5 ($100) but the phone looks a lot better than the S6.

IP rating and the expandable storage are both welcome returns but I'm holding off on a new phone until I see what the Z6 is like.

Strange it's still using Micro USB. I'd have thought USB-C would be the way to go.

I've got an Galaxy S6 which I'm happy with, so I won't be upgrading just yet. Maybe in 6 months when the price has dropped from £569 to < £400.

I have a Galaxy Tab S2 and recently picked up a Nexus 6P. After using the Nexus for a few weeks, I don't think I could ever get a Samsung Android device again. The pure Android experience is so much better.

I know the power is there, but does USB-C currently support qualcomms Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 spec? I think that might be the issue

JoD you walk into a store and walk out with your new phone. At most you're looking at a down payment if you didn't pay one on your old phone. That is usually $100.

I like the option of the dual sim tray. Until now dual sims were mostly available only on lower spec phones. Great for travel.

you must have missed out on the xperia Z dual series, and zenfone 2

think it's dual passive? not sure

How does the camera in S7 compare to S6? I have an S6 and the camera is the best phone cam I've ever had.

pseudoswede Feb 23, 2016 7:26 am

It's supposed to be better, but I we won't know until expert reviews come out in March.

SRQ Guy Feb 23, 2016 7:44 am

All of the "casual" reviews seem to show a far superior camera to both the Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6S.

dual sim might be nice but implementation and support is unknown. And it's at the sacrifice of the microSD slot when in use so buy capacity (32gb/64gb) accordingly

Looks like my contract ends 3/25 w/ Verizon. Should be able to trade in my 6 and then get the 7 with a new 2 year plan.

pseudoswede Feb 23, 2016 1:37 pm

I have a $33/mo trade-in credit across two phones. Unfortunately, I lose the credit if I trade in my S6's for S7's. :( Looks like I'll have to wait for the S8. :D
