I've never encountered such a restriction. Where are you experiencing it?

Surely you can just log back in?

They either deposit a cookie and log you out or log your MAC address. To be safe, flush your cache and change your MAC address.

I've had success just switching browsers, after a reboot (go from IE to Chrome). Not foolproof, but does work in some terminals.

Looks way to involved to modify the MAC address.

You're probably right.

Wouldn't you have to log back in anyway if you change the MAC address? The enforcement is likely being done at the router level, not the computer/browser. If they keep current connections open but not allow new ones when the time runs out, a VPN might work.

Probably not the answer you wanted, but how about paying for it? If being online is that important, surely a small fee to ensure the service stays economically viable for the operator isn't too much to ask? Alternatively, use the airline lounge Wi-Fi.

45 minutes for the MacBook, 45 minutes for the iPad, 45 minutes each, for the two phones I carry. Any longer than that, in a place like ORD, and I'll be needing some rope!

CLT also has the 45 minute time limit. Thanks for the workarounds.

that's strange, CLT's 45-minute limit was the *only* airport where I could
get around it easily by simply closing/re-opening my smartphone's browser.
(or switch to other browsers)

My first thought as well, though I'm sure not a popular response around here...

there are no Star Alliance lounges.....
