Best GPS Navigation System
 

Anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps a GPS system that you're currently using that you think is the bee's knees?

Time to get rid of my old ancient one that I got in 2008.

I like Google Maps, plus it's free.

Garmin.

Dude they have like a million different systems.

Well whatever they use for the automobiles. I love them.

This, or my personal favorite GPS app, Waze. Not sure why or how any other stand-alone system is relevant anymore.

For me 100% Wazey ;)

Eats up a ton of data and since most of us aren't on wifi when we're driving, that's a problem.

The latest upgrade does not having eating up a ton of data. I tested it the last two 2+ hour trips I had going home.

They have improved battery life, but it still dropped about 40% during that drive.

I think it used about 8mg of data during the trip. I don't even come close to using even half my data plan, so to me it doesn't matter much.

The battery life is fine since I'm likely charging while driving. I'll give it a shot the next time and see what it does to my data. I have 3GB which is pretty good but my Tinder is a data hog :p

I posted in the Waze thread about Here and I still like it.

One nice feature about Here is that it not only displays the road speed limit, but you can customize an alarm (visual and/or auditory) for x miles over the speed limit.

You can also download states into your phone so that the nav works even if your cell service is spotty or non-existent. Great for the West.

Be aware that some phones with huge screens or demanding CPUs will consume power faster than the charger can provide it.

I've been happy with my Garmin.
