Can a person take powerbank for cellphones in checked luggage?
Seniors,
I am going flying to India, Are we allowed to take powerbank for cell phones in checked luggage? Take a look at the link for the external battery charging powerbank. http://www.ipoweradd.com/poweradd-pi...ack_p1359.html |

Power banks are lithium ion batteries--not allowed in checked baggage in the US at least. |

google "lithium battery fire" to understand why they should not be checked.
different airlines also have different rules; CX definitely has a list of what are/are not acceptable battery sizes for carry on. |

I bought this 22000 mAh powerbank and have been carrying it in my carry on luggage on a trip putside the US. Security staffers keep asking me to take it out of my bag, then they look at it and say it's OK.
Just went through security in Bangkok and there was a wastebasket next to the security post with something about "power banks" written on it, but the basket was empty and they let me go through with mine. Not sure which ones are prohibited. |

I had my luggage scanned in Taiwan and they said I could not have a couple rechargable flashlights ( less power than a cll phone battery) , this was over a year ago before the Samsung problems ,
I would not my bags stuck in Security somewhere because of questions about a powerbank , no matter what the sign says ! Carry it :) |
