Prepaid SIM - Pakistan
I know very few people (on FT) travel to Pakistan but for those of you who do, this information may prove to be useful:
1. Ufone
2G: 900 MHz / 1800 MHz
3G: 900 MHz / 2100 MHz
Cheap SMS and call rates, data is slow and expensive.
2. Mobilink / Jazz
2G: 900 MHz / 1800 MHz
3G: 2100 MHz
LTE: 1800 MHz (Band 3)
Wide coverage, decent LTE, affordable data and calls. Biggest cellular network in Pakistan.
3. Telenor PK
2G: 900 MHz / 1800 MHz
3G: 850 MHz / 2100 MHz
LTE: 850 MHz (Band 5)
Overall affordable network, poor LTE coverage, terrible call quality and unusable 3G.
4. Zong
2G: 900 MHz / 1800 MHz
3G: 2100 MHz
LTE: 1800 MHz (Band 3)
Favours data over voice, affordable, good coverage and the best LTE network in the country.
