I have the original slingbox, not used for a few years.

How easy is it for the other party (overseas travel, second home) to receive without being a techie ?

The new setup is really easy to use. They just have to sign into a website (you can give them master access, or just guest access.) If they're in a blocked country they would need a VPN that directs to the US or similar. Unfortunately the Sling browser only works in 32 bit browsers, and Chrome is a 64 bit (which means no Hola Unblocker.) Even better is that it is now usable with Roku and Chromecast.

bought 2 on this deal. should be arriving tomorrow. upgrades from Solo's in both houses.

Got my SB350's. Hooked one up in my NYC home. Worked great there.

But the real revelation is remote. Just got to my PA home tonight and fired up the cxn to my SB in NY. Fantastic picture - watching the Sunday night NFL game and there is no lag - just perfect pic and sound.

This is a huge step up from a Solo which was a good step up from the AV.

Question To play the TV on another TV elsewhere what will I need ? Something like Apple TV or ....?

Cheapest way: Chromecast and a compatible android or iphone or a phone or tablet that supports HDMI out
Easiest way: Roku Streaming stick or player.

Keep in mind that the Slingbox mobile app does cost $15 per platform.

I have been using a Slingbox 500 for the past two years. Easy the best.

I had a Slingbox Pro HD before that and it was excellent too, however the 500 was in many ways a great improvement.

My only annoyance is that the mobile apps all cost money at $15 for phones and $30 for tablets. Fortunately they decided not to charge for the desktop app.

Anyways for $89, I think the 350 is a great deal too, but personally I prefer the 500.
