I could have sworn I got cashback for my iPhone 5 purchase, but it was awhile ago, and you may be right. TopCashBack does say the iPhone 6/6 Plus are excluded, and if anyone is going to enforce that, Apple would be one to do so...

I was quite surprised! Once the Apple Store came back online, notifications from various stock-tracking websites started popping up. Two dozen stores in the region between DC and PHL all got my model in stock today. It looks like they're all gone now, though--they sure went quickly!

FWIW, iStockNow.com was by far the fastest to respond with email alerts--within 5-10 minutes or so of store.apple.com returning. The others I had set alerts with came along a little bit later--6tracker.com was about 30 minutes late and idevicechecker.com was a couple of hours late. I would recommend iStockNow.com as having the best interface (their Live Map is very intuitive) and the most frequent updates.

Shoot, the only iPhone 6 Plus it shows around here are all Sprint.

May not be until next year when they have unlocked 6 Pluses available whenever you walk into a store.

Typically, Apple drops that restriction a few months after launch, when the backorder list dies down and they compete against other phones a bit. Maybe you didn't get your 5 as early in the cycle.
