Printershare?

I downloaded the free version which ONLY lets you print 1 page - a test page. Okay they want you to pay. Got lots of good reviews BUT no apparent cs. I emailed asking if I have to buy a key for each of my android tablets/phones and if I have to buy a separate one for the ipad version. No answer.

At $13/per this adds up very quickly with 6ish tablets. Does anyone know - or better yet have a suggestion for printing from android and ipad on a wifi network. I tried cloudprinter but this seems to require regular computer running google browser to act as a ?printserver. I'd like something that can print directly from my tablet to the printer without buying a new printer.

Some suggestions here

that may also have android apps

I've never heard of Printershare, but from looking at its website it still needs a computer running its client connected to the printer.

Your only option for printing directly from an iPad to the printer is to get a printer that supports AirPrint. Or, you can connect a computer to the printer and print from an iPad using some software that supports AirPrint.

Printershare is available for android and apple, but it is not clear whether I have to pay for the "key" for each unit. Does anyone use it and know the answer?

I don't want to buy a new printer if possible nor do I want to have to use a regular computer in order to print (google cloudshare requires this)

Wouldn't a definitive answer be easier to get from Printershare?

As in everything else on Flyertalk, you will get somebody who will say you can use one key for a bazillion devices. You will get another post saying you need a key for each device. You will get a post saying apple is silly, buy a windows tablet.

Drop them a note and ask what the pricing model is.

Of course you are right, but I sent them an email 2 days ago and have not received an answer to that exact question so I was hoping someone here might have used it.
Perhaps it is a warning if they charge $13 for the app, don't say what the license includes, and don't answer their emails:(

You're not listening.

Printershare requires a regular computer in order to print.

Printershare is FREE today only from Amazon and their app store:

It depends on the printer. They support direct printing to some wifi printers without having a computer to print

Some mobile PrinterShare clients are also capable of printing directly on stand-alone WiFi printers. This is an exceptional case, when document is sent to printer itself, and not to another PrinterShare client. Not all WiFi printers are supported.

The list of supported printers that you can print directly to, without having the printer connected to a computer, is on this page

THANK YOU soooo much. I totally would have missed this. It took me a while to figure out how to download (had to download amazon (probably unnecessary), def. need to download amazon app downloader on each android device, then downloaded the premium version of printershare). It seemed like I would have had to pay for each one (not sure) so this either saved me enough money for a good lunch or enough money for a gourmet dinner:)

I don't think this app works as well (or at all) on the ipad from the reviews, but since it wasn't part of this deal I'm not sure.

Also free today is documents to go (normally $15) so I'll give it a try. I didn't even know about the free every day apps (or had forgotten).

Printershare DOES print directly to my printer via wifi (which I already knew since the test page had printed correctly) - no intermediate computer needed - which is exactly what I wanted to avoid buying a new printer. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Thanks, Scott! I just installed it on my tablet and it works great! Found my network printer with no problem whatsoever.

Keep in mind that you need to keep the Amazon Appstore app installed on your device - it contains the DRM wrapper verification. Remove it, and your apps stop working...

Ahhh, even more useful info Scott. Never would have known this and maybe explains why there was no "key" I could find.

I finally got an email response to my query about whether I had to buy a Key for each device - and they said they it is good across the same platform android or ios IF purchased directly from them or the android app store. Now I know why they didn't mention the amazon app purchase and why I can't find a key (at least I think I understand).

I got it from Amazon as the free app of the day and it works in both my Android phone and tablet.
