Word processor for ipad
An older relative is looking for a word processor for his ipad. Should be easy to use, compatible with Microsoft Word, able to sync with Google Drive or Dropbox and not too expensive.
|
Apple offers Pages, which is pretty good for $10. Iris able to open Word files and save them to Word files.

I've read too many reports of incompatibilities with Pages. For example, https://discussions.apple.com/thread...art=0&tstart=0
Documents To Go and QuickOffice seem to be the main competition. There are a number of other choices, but reviews don't seem as good. However, I don't read much about ease of use, which is important here. |

I use both docs To go and quick office on the iPad and android and save both to Dropbox for later editing in Word. You just have to pick one and use it enough to get comfortable with them.
Do either of them do tables (or columns), which is his current issue with Google Drive? |
Yeah, Pages isn't perfect, but neither are any of the others I've tried. The others may, or may not, bee better though. Someone else can say if they are or not.

From what I've read, Pages doesn't sync with Dropbox or Google Drive, which is a real problem.
Documents to Go is getting terrible reviews on itunes. Quickoffice is getting better reviews, and appears to sync, although it is the most expensive |
