Powerline 500

Wondered if anyone had any experience of using the 500mbps powerline adapters? I'm looking at the Netgear kit which seems to get rave reviews but is unfortunately accompanied with a pretty hefty price compared to other kits.

Any thoughts on whether Netgear justifies the premium?

I have no good experiences with Netgear and hear the same from others.
Last weekend I bought Cisco/Linksys power adapters and they work great. ^
Before that, I had Sitecom homeplugs but they didn't work out on the PC we wanted (they did on another PC) so we traded them for the Linksys.

I have two different kinds of Xyxel 200mbps adpaters in my house. Getting them to communicate with each other is pretty much impossible (except when they're the same model), but they all can access the internet easily.

I'm surprised at the speed in which stuff downloads to my XBox (goes to a gigabit ethernet port on my DSL modem, which is connected to a 40mbps DSL line).

I use one of the Netgear 500s on my home LAN to connect my home entertainment systems to the main LAN. I've found it works perfectly -- I have no trouble streaming video back and forth, it's reliable and maintenance free.
