I am thinking about buying an iPad but I think I would go for the iPad 2 over the iPad 3. As I have read numerous times the new version is an "evolution" of the previous model and not a "revolution".
I have held both versions next to one another and I noticed the iPad 3 was heavier, much hotter, thicker and more expensive. Ok, the screen is sharper and the graphics are said to be better but how good do they need to be as it's not supposed to be a portable gaming device - the graphics are currently good enough. I have also reently heard that some are having trouble with Wifi speeds which would be a serious disadvantage in my eyes. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...ow-speeds.html I can pick up an iPad 2 for sub £300 price so I think I will. I'll see what the iPad 4 has to offer :-P |
I have a bit of a variant on the question in the OP. My new iPad arrived and I would like to set it up, using my current iPad as the source. But I want to use the old one next week before wiping it to use up an international data plan (I will be in Europe next week). If I set up the new one will it mess up the old one in any way over the course of a week? Thanks.

i've heard that you can transfer existing data plans to new ipads but have not looked into it. i would think you could just swap the sim. |

nope. you'll have two ipads with identical content after you set the new one up from the backup of the old one. the old one won't know you did that and it should work just like it always did.

Thanks. Old one is AT&T, new one is VZW so the SIM swap - oh wait. Maybe it will work in Italy. Hmm, I might have to try that. Thanks for both responses.
ipads are also unlocked so other sims should work in either one. |
