I totally agree. Win 8 is a dud, it's another Win ME / Vista. MS continue to make the same mistakes over and over, why do they never learn? The wake from sleep/hibernate has been a non-issue since I went to a SSD. I installed the preview in a VM and didn't see anything at all that was a must have and a lot of where's the innovation/new features head scratching.
I mentally called it Windows 7 with a tacked on UI and designed by a 6 year old....

Our IT group (supporting over 15K users) has decided that Win 8 is a skip....

Win 8 = Epic Fail

I don't know that we are willing to call it a fail just yet. I think it will depend where touch-screen technology goes. It sounds like some companies are really going to push touch screen laptops in the coming months, that might just make a case for Windows 8. If they could actually integrate the metro interface tiles with the win 7 desktop, I could see that also being a plus. But from a management view I am a little concerned. Then again, we have only barely started working towards Win 7, win 8 might be years away.

OK, There Is one very compelling reason to have windows 8. It's called "flow", and for such a simple game, it can become very, very addictive.

Agreed. Win8 is all about touch. The Metro interface works with a mouse, but the real advantage is with a touch enabled device. Under Metro, Win 8 is mostly Win 7. Not sure yet if desktop users with a standard keyboard and mouse would find a huge advantage. Many have said that Windows has a recent history of every other release being a winner. Based on our very short evaluation period, I can see Win 7 for desktop users, Win 8 for mobile users until Win "9" becomes the next XP.
