What type of plug type does the Philippines use? It looks like US style plugs with 220 volt electricity.

You good sir are correct.
The Philippines generally uses 220 volts at 60 Hz with U.S. style flat blade attachment plugs (symmetric). In a few cases, buildings also have 110 volt wiring, mostly used for air-conditioners, of which you have to be aware.

They use both the "A" type blade plug and also the type "C" round pin as used in continental Europe.

Definitely have an adapter as you will find both plugs. Mainly "A" but sometimes you will run into "C".

Be aware though that often the plug will be US style but meant for two prongs not 3. I'm sure it won't be an issue at a reputable hotel but in private homes you will likely run into this problem. Inexpensive adapters are sold in the Philippines to convert three prong to two prong and have a grounding wire. I don't know if I'd trust any expensive electronics to such adapters though....
