Bose headset
 

Hi,
I was reading the KLm magazine, and found the quietcomfort 3. I was interested and thought about checking them out, but realised how expensive they were. I was wondering, if anyone here knows how to get it for a more reasonable pricing...?

Tip: have you tried looking on-line to see if other companies offer the same headset at a cheaper price?

My 5 cents.

Bose does receive a lot of flak (sometimes with a reason), but the quietcomfort 3 are perfectly acceptable from an audiophile point of view. (Please trust me I know what I'm talking about). They are arguably the best noise canceling headphones out there.

You need them if you travel a lot and you are a music lover. You don't need them if the ipod headphones are okay for you under normal circumstances. Get much cheaper sony noise canceling headphones or something in that case. Spend if you want "silence" with a quite good sound.

But the bad news is. I have seen a few offers where they are about 10 euros cheaper and that's about it. I reckon you read about the offer with the flying blue miles. So if you fancy the Bose QC3 you might as well go for the FB miles.

I got another noise cancelling headset from Daily Steals or a similar site and got a pair that work really well for only $20.

I just traded in my old Bose for the new ones
 

I had read here, or somewhere, that if you had a problem with your old Bose headphones you could turn them in and pay $99.00 for the newest ones. I had a piece of plastic broken years ago that I repaired with black tape and they worked fine. I took them in anyway and they accepted them and I bought new ones for 99.00. I have loved my old ones and hated to part with them but I'm sure the new ones are as good or better. Easy to sleep in too, believe it or not.

As an audio headphone it is a good unit but not heads and shoulders above them in audio quality.

Where the Bose excel in is quieting your environment without an audio track playing.
