Spotify Playlists
So for those of us who have Spotify, I'd be interested to know which package (free/basic/premium) you opted for and how you find new music. I am having trouble figuring out how to find new music and playlists.
I got the free version...but I'd be happy to pay for it if I thought I'd use the features. |
I've gone with Premium since way back when it was necessary to use a 3rd party linux app. (the API required a premium account). I've since sold off my entire CD collection. If I compare the cost of cable TV to Spotify, it's way better value than cable.

I'll be following this as well since I have the same question.
I've only been on Spotify for a week or so, but early on looks as though the premium membership is it if you want to stream to your mobile device. |
Premium, so I can use it on my iPhone.
$10 is definitely a steal, since on average I spend $20/month on music online. As far as playlists go, I just pick an artist and use Spotibot to generate a Genius-style playlist. Otherwise, I go back 15 years mentally and listen to complete albums (or artists, or search results) in shuffle. One thing I adore... there's a ton of local Puerto Rican indie rock on this service. |
What's Spotibot? I had been looking for that kind of functionality but couldn't find it. Is it only available in the paid versions?

Enter an artist, and watch a playlist get generated for you. And it works with both free and paid versions. |
