Ipad 2 wall charger replacement?
Does anyone here have a reliable source for a 10W USB charger that can be used with an Ipad 2?
I bought a supposed 10W charger two pack off Meritline a while back and one charger produced such dirty current it froze the touch screen on the ipad whenever it was connected. The second charger died after a week of use. I'm looking for a simple wall charger that's compatible with the Ipad and will charge it in the same amount of time as the Apple branded charger. I already have two spare 6 foot charging cables now so I don't necessarily need a cable to come with the charger. If I had known it would be so difficult to buy reliable 3rd party accessories I would have just shelled out for the ones sold by Apple directly. |

Cut your losses... Regards |
After kiling my first iPod using an unbranded wall charger, I paid for the apple brand and haven't looked back. Peace of mind was worth a lot

My grandma used to say: "I'm too poor to be cheap."
This is one of those perfect examples where you will end up spending more cash by buying the imitations and still end up buying the original. We've all been there! |

Bizarre...
I use cheap chargers all the time with my iPad 2...never had a problem. In fact I use 3rd party chargers on my iPhones, iPod Touch, never had an issue. I have yet to buy a genuine Apple charger in addition to the stock one that it comes with. |
I use a Macally dual usb port wall charger, stays in my travel kit. Only have to carry one charger for my iPhone and iPad. 10W (5v/2.1A) output. Also replaced my kids PSP/DS chargers with this to lighten the load.

For those of you with a fairly modern laptop or access to a recent vintage desktop computer, Asus AI Charger may do in a pinch. And it's free!
Many modern PCs can provide more current than the USB specification formally supports, and this utility enables that capability for not only Asus products but many other vendors. On my Gigabyte-based homebuilt desktop using the standard sync cable, I can charge my iPad nearly as fast as with the wall charger. The iPad can also be used while charging, unlike "default" operation when connected to a PC. |
I use the Callpod system as it allows me to charge multiple devices at once, including my iPhone and iPad (it can be used with many systems, not just Apple). The whole thing fits in a small punch which goes in my laptop bag when I travel, or is used in my office when at home.
I also recently purchased the ZAGGsparq which not only gives me USB ports for charging, but also has a built-in battery for when I'm not near an outlet. |

hm.. why don't you just get a USB Travel changer. So you can just reuse your cable. I saw one with the 2 port so i could charge my ipad and ipod the same time, just that i need two cable for it. hahaha.
The one i got is call "2-Port USB Home Wall Travel AC Charger Power Adapter" for less then $10 |
