Europe Power Converter

I will be traveling from US to Scotland, England, France, and the Netherlands. I will be charging my Netbook, Ipad, Ipod, Iphone, and compact camera battery charger. What's a good inexpensive power converter that would accommodate these appliances in the mentioned countries?

It's extremely likely that every one of those appliances is dual voltage, and you will not need a power converter at all - only a wall plug adapter as rally mentioned so you can physically plug it into the wall.

Check the power adapters, each should say something to the tune of "100-240V" - if it does, you can plug it in to basically any wall outlet once you have the proper adapter (just a couple bucks, and you can purchase at any travel store or online).

You will need one wall plug adapter for Scotland and England and another for France and the Netherlands. The two different plugs you should be looking for look like this (note: links are reference only and I have no experience with those specific products)

Most small-electronic-device chargers are dual voltage, so check them out to see if you need a power converter at all.

If you have time, you can also buy native UK and Euro plug USB charging blocks (like the 110 -> USB US one that comes with most devices).

DealExtreme (in Hong Kong) has them dirt cheap.

You can also buy UK and Euro plug sets (C5 and C7) for your existing transformer.

I have used for years the Lewis N. Clark brand converter with low wattage setting for chargers and electronics up to 50 wats, and high setting for heating appliances like irons, hair dryers, and kettles. You can buy it on Amazon as a set with the various foreign countries' plug adapters included, but you should also pick up extra plug adaptors for your destinations for $1.65 each, which is covered by your free shipping over $25. In Europe the wall plugs are recessed so even if your converter's prongs were the right configuration, it would still take a plug adapter as an extension to be able to plug it in. The converter itself is designed for American 3 prong plugs so you also need an American plug adapter if you want to use anything with only 2 prongs. It's true that most newer appliances and electronics are dual voltage and only need a plug adapter, but that wasn't the question.

I've been looking my peripherals' power adapters and some say 100-240V ~ 50-60Hz, another 110-250VA C 0.1A 50/60Hz as Input. Some have three prongs (Ground). Given this information I would only need the ADAPTERS for UK and Euro for the countries mentioned before?

If that is the case can I buy something like this and connect my 3 prong US device?

I have a small 3 port plug extender. Can I connect that to the adapter to power my low power devices mentioned before?

All the devices listed will be dual voltage 100 - 240, as already mentioned. You should just need an adapter that will fir the outlets. Check walmart, and if you have the time, dealextreme will have those adapters for about $1 each.

Most are chargers which works 110-240V. Just get a universal plug adapter and bring a mini powerbar to plug into the wall using the adapter then plug all your chargers into the powerbar.

another interesting thing I bring is a wall socket to 12v car socket converter so I can use my car chargers in the hotel,

these are cheap and 110-240v on the ones I have,

you will still need the wall socket adapters for whichever country you visit
