im pretty sure there are power points
will i be able to charge my macbook pro with its standard 3 pin UK plug or do i need to have a 2 pin adaptor for this?

It looks like 110 AC but best to check seatguru.com because it might be nothing.

What aircraft type are you on for the SQ flight?

The power output of the inflight power are limited so it might not be able to charge and run your computer at the same time.

Correct. Take a look at the power plug/adapter/brick and look for the wattage. If it's 65w or less you'll be OK but anything greater runs the risk of not charging as the a/c may not be equipped to handle it (there is a thread about this out here somewhere but it's 3am and I'm flunking trying to find it )

I believe outlets are the two-bladed North American style outlets @110 volts if they are available. Generally power points are only available in the first class cabin or possible in business class cabin. Check seatguru.com for where power points are located.
