laptop backpack
Hi all,
Is it worthwhile to invest in a proper travel backpack for my laptop? I read about them on this site and not too convinced... I am going to Central American this summer and will take my laptop with me. I wondered if I really should buy myself a travel backpack for it or if it makes more sense to just pack it in my McKinley? I am just concerned that the laptop will break at one stage... What do you think? Any recommendations? Thanks so much. |
I think it's worth it. I have a heavier duty Swiss Gear backpack that I just love the heck out of. It protects the laptop and has plenty of pockets for my gear.

Most of the laptop-backpacks I've seen are crazy heavy, even when empty they seem heavy - are there any that tend to be lighter than others?

If you are looking for an inexpensive one (or several), Walmart has a Targus one on sale today only (Thursday April 14) for $9.88 with $0.97 shipping

I'd suggest you invest in a cheap netbook and just put it in your old backpack. I have and ASUS Eee that is really light, has 9 hour batteries, and cost about $260 that I use for travel - I don't worry so much about it being stolen, and the light weight is priceless.
