Two pin plug difference?
I noticed in my "plug kit" that I got with my converter there are two round pin to flat blade converter plugs. One is the type I've seen most of and it has two metal round pin plugs with plastic sleeves. The other has ever so slightly larger round pin plug and seems to be quite a bit tighter in European outlets. This plug is all metal with no plastic sleeve. Anyone want to educate me?

The plastic sleaving round the pins is for safety so that you can't be shocked by touching the top of the pin when the bottom is already in the socket. Normally these are on europlugs when the end is not round shaped, as the shape of the Euro-socket serves the safety purpose being recessed.
This would be extremely unlikely for a travel plug, but in the UK, our shaver plugs are two round pins; however they are slightly closed together. |
