Anybody Using Firefox 4 (Beta)?
Anyone with any comments on the FF 4 beta? It claims to be significantly faster, up to 3X faster than the current FF version. I am tempted to download and try it, but I have never beta tested anything in my life!

For the few days I used it, I didn't notice it being substantially faster (on my ~2.5 year old dual core 2 laptop). |
Not a single crash in beta 12 - I switched FROM Chrome as there were too many things that didn't work right. Running just a handful of extensions.

I've been using betas 7-12 and really can't tell much of a difference from 3.x. I'm sure it's better on some benchmarks, and the acid3 score is up a couple of points, but nothing I notice in real-world usage.
The Hotmail bug is annoying, but I put hotmail.com on my IETab list and now it's fine. MS tried to fix it but I still saw goofy behavior. TabMixPlus didn't work with one of the releases, which was annoying for a few days, but now all add-on's are operating as expected. |
Been using it for the past few months. 3.x was crashing frequently for me, but Firefox 4 has been very stable so far.

I've been using beta 4, and recently the formatting on printing became messed up. I've had to print stuff using IE, and a search on Google revealed that the problem wasn't just on my computer. So there are definitely still some major bugs...

I downloaded it to try and eliminate the problem of rather than icons on... Flyertalk ... e.g. "Reload this Page" v. an icon, etc. Didn't fix it (nor did erasing and clearing the cache). So, we back to FF 3 and the problem persists.

One idea: Have you tried to install a program like CutePDF (or something similar that "prints" a page to a PDF) and then printing the PDF? |
I had some goofy printing problems last week with an AA BP, but I tried it with IE8 and then CutePDF and they both had the same problem.

If the problem persists with FF3, you may want to print from IE or Chrome.

It's not a printing situation. It's the view of the screen. Rather than icons, I get text.
