Anyone know of an email spam filter for Android?

My phone gets tons of junk mail that my Outlook blocks. In searching several Android sites I've found tons of so-called spam filters. Upon reading the description, all so far are SMS (text) or call blockers. Useful, but not what I'm looking for.

I'm aware that I can have Google Mail sweep my POP3 mail account, filter it, and push it to me, but I'd rather not unless I absolutely, positively have no recourse.

Ummm ... forgot a few things that may or may not be important.

Phone = Original Moto Droid, running 2.1, and K-9 Mail.

Mail Server = ordinary POP3 account provided with my website, hosted somewhere in cyberspace. Most of my clients contact me this way, knowing it goes through to my phone and that I always have my phone with me.

  1. GMail - either @gmail.com or your own domain
  2. IMAP not POP3 - plenty of discussion about the benefits of IMAP over POP3

The SPAM stays in the GMail/SPAM folder, which you can check once a week (or whenever you wish to) on your device or your desktop - best way is actually via the GMail webmail.

GMail is free, it just *works*.

You really want to get rid of the spam before it gets to your phone. I go with willyroo's suggestion.
