Droid Bionic
This seems like a pretty nice, fast phone. X size, but more powerful and LTE.

512mb ram and a dual core processor are some pretty sweet specs.
I've still got a year and a half on my ATT contract, but I'm salivating over the newer Android phones. |

After many years I got tired of their Apple or nothing attitude and jumped ship. |

Hey, by then it's likely ATT will finally have a few decent choices. After many years I got tired of their Apple or nothing attitude and jumped ship. Never had a better phone than my HTC EVO.

Very nice! Looks like HTC got some serious competitor right there.
|
Looks like it's finally here. I may pick one up tomm (sept 8th), since VZW took off my intl unlimited data, might as well try a 4G phone.

Is it me or does phone seems like an average unit? With the Revolution 2, Samsung Note, and Vigor coming out in a matter of months, this phone seems a little underpowered.

At the moment it's at the top of Verizon's heap for an Android LTE phone. |
Verizon specs:
Droid Bionic: Dual core 1 GHz processor 1 GB of LP DDR2 RAM 16GB internal memory 4.3" screen LTE That is a beast of a phone! BUT of course has to run the craptasic moto blur and Big Reds crapware.... So untill its root'd I'd stay away from it. |
The Vigor is the only other unit I'd wait for, but will have to wait about a month. Looks like someone has already rooted it. So....I think it could be a winner, for now :)
|
Isn't the Dinara (motorola) expected soon and it is rumored to be the 'best'?
|
I thought the Samsung Galaxy II s was supposed to be "best android phone" at the moment????

Picked one up today. Seems like my Droid X I had last year. Put it up against the X, Bionic is faster. In the 4G area, this thing downloads things really quick. Havent messed too much with it yet. Will post later.
If anyone wants one, I suggest Costco. For 279.99, I got the phone, nav doc, extra battery, cla, leather case, external battery charger and car mount. I think those extras alone must be over $100, if not more. Plus, they only charge sales tax on the price your buying the phone at, not full retail, like VZW does. Talked with my buddy at VZW, he said he cant touch that deal and to get it at Costco. Good luck! |

There is a CDMA variant but not sure what the name is OR if it will ever see the US Droid Bionic is CDMA, Don't think there is GSM variant planned. |
