Internet access in Rome

Heading to Rome for a 6 month gig - Apartment does not have wifi and need access beyond going back and forth to local hot spot. Apt. owner says I can buy an Internet Kee (key) to gain access anywhere. Anybody know about this or other options? tks,.

I'm sure he means one of the USB keys that are cellular modems, popular everywhere else, probably made it to Italy, too.

I think you might get more responses if this was moved to the Italy forum.

I know both TIM and Vodaphone, two of the larger cell phone providers in Italy, offer this. I don't know if you speak any Italian, but check out TIM's Alice: http://www.alice.it/navigare/index.html

Look ar prepaidgsm.net as well. They've been talking about a deal from the Italian provider Wind.
