Data Enabled Prepaid SIM in the US?

Data Enabled Prepaid SIM in the US?
Travelling to NYC next month, and last time I was there, got a t-mobile SIM for calls that is a prepaid without contracts.
However, they do not have any data plan on prepay. though I checked with ATT and they have $20 plan for something like 100 MB over a month that just doesnt suffice.
Do I HAVE TO get a USB stick? Are there any prepaid SIM cards available with a data plan that I can use with my phone and connect with my PC as well without shelling out extra?
