Laptop Date Keeps Changing
Thought I would check in with the technology experts.
I purchased an Asus laptop 3 months ago. For the last month or so, I have noticed that my date will suddenly change two or three days forward. I usually do not notice it until after I send an email... and someone tells me my email is in the future... :) I have uploaded BIOS updates... anything else anyone would suggest checking? William |
There are quite a few people saying it happens to them too, many using a u50F and windows 7. They have tried bios updates, Best Buy has done battery replacements on the mother board, and they are still having issues. The assumption is there's a bug in the Bios chips, as some have said they can see the new date on the bios screen before windows takes over.
I would put in a support request with Asus and see if they have any updated information. Several other people mention it in the Best Buy reviews of one of their machines http://reviews.bestbuy.com/3545/9701922/reviews.htm |
That's quite a bug if true...
First thing I would check would be CMOS batt. Depending on the laptop, it may or may not be easy to access. However, if it is a BIOS bug this will do nothing to remedy the situation. Here's a thread over at ASUS, no resolution yet: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?...age=1&count=21 |
