Six years is an eternity for most portable consumer products and Bose sells stuff for the pilot earphone use. The deteriorating items listed by the OP are readily available and easily replaceable for a reasonable cost, Check bose.com or ebay.com etc for pricing and availability.

The covers on the inside of my pads have now split, so I stopped by the Bose booth at DEN when passing through last week to ask about replacements. I was hoping to get the "replace your whole headphone" offer for $89 (thread is here) but no love. The salesman did offer to sell me replacement pads for $35. I declined for now.
