Verizon Data Card Subscriptions Now Include WiFi
 

Verizon WiFi subscriptions now give you free access to wifi networks. Most of the U.S. ones aren't exciting because you can get them free (Borders, Barnes & Noble, and Starbucks). What is interesting is that it also works at Canadian wifi spots including their Starbucks.

My understanding is that Canadian Starbucks are still pay (e.g. that the gift card trick doesn't get you free access). It seems like this access may help people out on short border runs.

Apparently, you also get access to some Mexican hotspots, but I haven't checked that out:
