Advice on electronics gift

I hope this is the right place to post this...if not please feel free to move.

I want to get my dad some kind of electronics, something he can use on a daily basis while he travels (he flies around 4 days a week for work and does around 300 segments a year). I'm interested in something around $40-60. Any frequent business travelers out there that can give me some advice on what types of electronics I could look into? (I'd consider non-electronics also if he could use it for his daily business travel). Thanks in advance.

Do you know what he currently has? There are some noice canceling headphones in the $50 range (granted they are not as good as the $350 ones, but they are better then $2 earbuds). If he's into crosswords or soduku to kill the time on flights there are electronic versions of both of those easily in that price range.

If he doesn't have an MP3 player, you can get some in that range, again it won't be an Ipod, but it will play music.

this makes a good gift for almost anybody that travels with electronics and it's right in your price range. If you're shipping it to the mainland, I think you can find it with free shipping at amazon.com. For shipping to the islands, their website was the cheapest I could find.

Not sure if it's too late but check out the new find in this recent thread. This charger should be a handy gadget to have.

MP3 player would be one of the best ideas, popular ones are ipods, zunes, creative labs, etc. Also there are a lot of digital book readers out there, The Kindle, Sony Reader, The Nook; these would be great too, because they carry books and will eventually carry News papers and other "print" media. Or you can find out what type of electronics he uses and give him some spare batteries, razors to shave with practical stuff is always great for men especially older men.
