it's a legitimate question...

I should have been clearer that they have worked great, but were dropped recently and just don't seem to have the same sound. they're several years old and i'll likely have to pay something for repair, if they can be repaired at all. moreover, with the advance in tehcnology and all the new products out there, i'm of the opinion i can buy a better product for a bit more than the possible repair cost. i'm wieghing my options.

Would you mind sharing more about your experience with both of these? Did you like the Shure E500's better? How did the two compare? Thanks in advance for the information -- I'm very curious to hear your thoughts! Unfortunately it's not so easy to try these out in a store, so I rely upon recommendations from others....
