:) It could be slightly more complicated than that. How do you initiate the SSL connection to your office at the moment? Do you have a standalone client installed on your home computer that you run, or is there a web page you go to that initiates the connection?

I use a stand-alone client on my home computer (Forticlient though, in the past, I've used Greenbow).

When you're connected via SSL, on the home computer try running ipconfig from a command prompt - see if it mentions an IP address for the SSL connection. Then, from the work computer see if you can connect to this IP address - that's a quick check to see if it will work.
No mention of SSL -- just checked.

Just did some quick research on the Forticlient software - it certainly seems to be mainly for allowing outbound access to servers - rather than allowing incoming access to a client PC from the network.

You may be out of luck here unless you go with the router to router solution.
