Headphone socket and built in microphones...
SuanLum, like Jimmie76 states;
any netbook worth buying will have regular headphone sockets and most also have built-in webcams and microphones. So for Skype you need no peripherals, unless you are in a public place where headphones will be needed. |
10 months into owning a Samsung NC10 and very happy with it (still getting 5-7 hours battery life). When at home I use it for web browsing and Skype video calls to my parents as I can carry it in one hand whilst showing them their grandson running around. For work I picked it because of the keyboard which feels robust and almost full size. I wanted to do a lot of report writing when flying and found that I made far less typing errors when using this compared to other models that were available at the start of this year.

Yep, you'll get better responses in the Travel Technology forum.
If you're an 'intermediate' level IT user, you could do worse than convert a Dell Mini to a Mac - details here - it took me a couple of hours but I'm very, very pleased with the result. Although I don't type on it too much. |

Edit: Here is a link to Macrumors with further details: |
Please continue to discuss NetBooks in the thread linked in post 2 (and again below).
