I didn't check every one of your measurements, but take a look at the A. Saks 20" expandable rolling duffle. It's my go to for trips longer than one week where I want a carry on. Be aware it has very little structure and it is useful to use packing cubes to keep clothes organized. I've used mine for years and love it but it won't be to everyone's taste.

You can try and see if you can still find one of the Lipault 2 wheeled 22in. I think they came in right at 2kg. I am assuming you meant 22x14x9, not 22x36.

The Stratic Agravic I posted about in this thread long time ago (post #500) qualifies:

Under US$250 €109 minus some coupon at the time
I think it's been discontinued though.

Thanks. Off to search the interwebs (although it might be over 2kg)...

Look at Antler. Lightweight and will ship worldwide. There are some that meet some of your requirements, but I'm not sure if there are any meeting all requirements.

Yeah, I don't know my conversion. I think it comes in at 4.4lbs - I know that is right around the 2kg mark, not sure if that is a little above or below, though.

Remember seeing Japanese tourists around town and they seem to have light, extra small carry-ons. Rather than accosting them, thought I'd check out a few Japanese luggage brands.

Found these on the Proteca site.

18" (1.7kg)
https://www.proteca.jp/english/produ...l.php?id=12741

22" (1.8kg)
https://www.proteca.jp/english/produ...l.php?id=12742

Don't meet my requirements, but thought I'd share. Might take a look at them if I'm nearby a store.

(Apologies if already been a post about these.)

Amazon.co.jp, Rakuten, Yodobashi, and Bic Camera also ship luggage within Japan, if you'll be visiting. Amazon's prices seems less expensive than Don Quijote, Loft, or Tokyo Hands. Spinners are the most common. I've seen plenty of 2 & 4 wheelers < 20" and fairly slim front-to-back on the streets of Japan but don't know if they're still commonly sold. Amazon.co.jp has a few ~25-35L hardsided clamshell spinners which fit in coin lockers.

Muji also carries luggage internationally.

I don't know if this has been said, but Tumi used to make a model called Alpha Super Léger. It is the original black Alpha ballistic design. It weighs less than six pounds (ok, there are three-pound suitcases out there now but still...). It's a twenty-inch (came also in 22'') and I love this suitcase. I've had it for almost four years. You can fill it up until you think it might burst without any problems, and when it's empty it folds pretty flat for storage. Maybe in some (online) outlet they still carry them? The successor series is the Tumi Voyageur collection, I think, but that's a women's line, right?

Delsey Hyperlite 2.0.

Have both. Have most of the set, actually in the black with orange highlights. The 4 wheel spinner is 4.4 lbs, which I believe is 2kg. The 2 wheel is slightly heavier at 4.6 lbs, but hopefully that's close enough. It's always on sale at Macys, it seems. I think it's only sold at Macys though. I think Delsey has a similar one sold everywhere, but it might be a tenth of a pound heavier or so.

The new Patagonia Black Hole MLC is excellent at 1505g and less if you ditch the shoulder strap. Much more organization and a bit more rigidity than expected.

These look really nice. Shame they don't make a 22" version. But for Europe, this would be a winner.
